Claudio Vargas Silva is an intern marriage and family therapist, experienced speaker and pianist. He does piano concerts and seminars about family, self-esteem, anger management, communication, and conflict management. He graduated in 2010 as a master of science in counseling and he is currently earning a doctor’s degree in general psychology.

Claudio works at the Christian Counseling Centers in San Jose and Morgan Hill, CA. You can contact him for personal therapy or for workshops at companies, churches and schools. He has worked for over 20 years as a minister, speaker and counselor, with native speaking Portuguese, Spanish and English. During the last 12 years he has specialized in families and children conducting workshops and face to face counseling. Claudio has written the book Master Yourself: Ten Steps to Loving Yourself, Having Good Relationships and Being Successful. He also has recorded many messages on CD and DVD which he offers on his seminars. Claudio has adopted the cognitive behavioral theory as his main approach for his lectures and counseling. Through his lectures and counseling sessions he shows the powerful impact of thoughts over our lives. Our feelings and our mood are a consequence of our thoughts. It’s not as much what happens to us that makes us happy or sad, but our perceptions of what happens. We can’t control people and we can’t control some events, but we can control our thoughts and our reaction.

If you feel too sad or stressed, you might need professional help. In case you have suicidal thoughts, you should ask professional help urgent or call 911. When we are depressed we may feel hopeless. In that case we have the illusion that our problem is beyond solution. However, this distorted thought does not reflect reality. It's only a symptom of depression. Don't believe your thoughts when they tell you that your problem is beyond repair. Help is available and your problem certainly has a solution.
